Urban Encounters:
Dialogue and practice of visual urbanism
Urban Encounters uses the lens of urban photography to bring together international researchers, academics, photographers and artists concerned with the experiences of contemporary urban spaces and cultures. It is of particular relevance to those engaged with urban image-making, analysis and research.
Focusing on the dialogue and practice of contemporary visual urbanisms, Urban Encounters organizes an annual interdisciplinary conference and other related educational, cultural, and artistic activities in collaboration with a variety of international partners including Goldsmiths, University of London and Tate Britain.
Our aim is to develop a cultural organization that furthers debate and encounter between urban social sciences and art practices resulting in public events, educational opportunities, exhibitions, research papers and publications, and collegial support for urban image and theory makers.
